These are my takeaways from the book Make Time By Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky, Part 4
One of the ways to make more time is to have more energy to endure the losses and physical fatigue. Actually, energizing is the secret sauce to help maintain your focus and avoid reacting to distractions and demands. If you want energy for your brain, you need to take care of your body. These are a few ways to energize your brain:
- Keep moving, walking, carrying and lifting. Exercise daily for at least 20 min
- Have plenty of time to kick back and share meals with others
- Spend some time alone to get relaxation
- Eat real food, fill the central part of the plate with salad and put other stuff on the side.
- Eat when hungry the food will taste better
- Have good 8 hours sleep
- If you energise with coffee, take it before you crash
- Take nap for energising instead of coffee
- Replace green tea with coffee
- Separate coffee from sugar
- Have nature walks
- Make mediation your habit. It is good for the brain.
- Leave headphones at home and have quiet time for brain when you commute or exercise
- Take real breaks from work without technology
- Eat without screens
- Sleep well and make it a priority
- Take care of yourself before taking care of others. Make time for the things that matter to you, so that you can take care of others.
