At the end of every task or meeting, make habit to reflect on the experience by asking questions listed below.
- What have I learned from this experience Expand the view of the problem.
- What turned out differently than I expected?
- What one thing I should improve on?
- What will I do differently in future?
- What are the trends?
- What is the future price I will gain or pay? Have a balcony view.
- How I want future to play out?
- How does it impact more than area of concern?
- If I make changes here where else there will be changes? Apply systems thinking.
- Always be able to explain why?
- What was the plan?
- How did I do, against the plan?
- What can I do better?
- For every action item or experiment, ask what question are I am trying to answer? Or What problem are I am trying to solve?
The reflection activity increases contextual awareness and lays foundation of learning agility. This also increase self awareness which help develop emotional intelligence and boosts learning significantly.
