Choose the Life You Want – Part 9

In life we are given many choices and our happiness depends on the choices we make.

81- Live only in the mins or Experience heartfelt positivity:

Recommendation: Choose to spend time not only living but also experiencing the gifts of life. Savour a beautiful work of art, sit quietly in the woods. Spend time experiencing positive emotions and enjoy the benefits of heartfelt positivity.

82- Give up when the going get tough or work towards your dream:

Recommendation: When the going gets tough for you, get going. No mountain was conquered, no meaningful goal was attained, without persistence. No person is immune to feeling of uncertainty and insecurity and all the people who have accomplished something significant, have endured difficult times and were lured by the sirens of surrender, but they did not give up, and that’s why we know them now– so never give up and continue working towards your goal.

83- Compromise on your best self or Act from the best within:

Recommendation: In any tough situation, act from your best within by choosing your response after taking a step back and evaluate the situation. To realise the potential within us, we need to study our best past and apply it to our present and future. In every encounter, insist on your best self.

84- Overlook Human Potential or See the seed of greatness in each person:

Recommendation: Everyone has a seed of greatness in them. If we become aware of the inner greatnesses of other people, only then we can help them grow and flourish, by recognizing the potential in them. Studies have shown that the expectations of others significantly impacts the performance of students, employees and soldiers. To a great extent, we get what we expect of others. Beliefs are self-fulfilling prophecies.

85- Utter empty works and promises or Live with integrity:

Recommendation: When there is no separation between what I say and what I do, then it is called integrity. People with integrity get respect in their life and afterwards. If you go or yourself, homie your words. When you follow up on your commitment, you convey an important message to yourself and others that your thoughts, your word and you matter.

86- Flaunt your feathers or Be humble:

Recommendation: Arrogance is a sign of insecurity and lack of self confidence and that is why arrogant people need to elevate themselves in the eyes of other people. Being humble is not about hiding your skills and strengths but to be sensitive to other people and recognize your real abilities while knowing your limitations. There should be a healthy balance between humbleness and pride.

87- Take on more and more or Simplify your life:

Recommendation: Quantity affects the quality and that is why when we pile up too much on our plate the quality of life and happiness decreases. Find ways to simplify your life and you will be happy. One way to simplify is to only commit to doing, what you are passionate about and not what you are told to, or expected to, or like the idea of.

88- Experience your mistakes as catastrophes or Treat your mistakes as valuable feedback:

Recommendation: Mistakes and errors are an inescapable part of life and are critically important part of successful life, as there is no learning without failing. We start walking after falling, we babble before talking and we scribble before learning colouring inside the box. Liberate yourself from the fear of failure.

89- Engage in self-analysis or Focus outward:

Recommendation: Nowadays there is too much focus on self analysis and self help books are abundant. But this obsession with happiness is contributing to our unhappiness. Happiness comes with the right balance in self analysis and being aware of others and thinking about what we can do for others. When you are finding yourself too much engaged in self analysis, refocus your attention outwards.

90- Take your nears and dears for granted or Appreciate your family and friends:

Recommendation: What truly matters in life are your relationships, your friends and family. The number one predictor of well being is not money or success but rather time you spend with the people you care about and who care about you. Choose family and friends, then anything else, before you do not have that choice any more.
